Cleaning with Ease
Aluminum Mini-blinds Dust is easily brushed off. You may either vacuum your aluminum blinds or clean them with a soft dust cloth either chemically treated or not. When vacuuming, we recommend starting with the tilts first turned up.
If you prefer to wash, use a damp cloth or sponge and mild detergent. Avoid hot water. Instead wash in either cold or warm water. Another method is to completely remove the blinds and rinse them in the bathtub.
Wood Blinds Unlike their aluminum sisters, wooden blinds must NOT be washed. Water can cause your blinds to warp or become discolored. Instead simply dust with a soft cloth or vacuum cleaner brush attachment.
Fabric Pleated Shades Most of the cellular shades are anti-static. This means they attract less dust and require little cleaning. If you would like to clean them, use your vacuum cleaner brush attachment. For a more thorough job, gently wipe with a soft damp cloth using room temperature water. Again do not use hot water. Take special care when handling opaque (blackout) shades to avoid creasing. We don’t recommend immersing your pleated shades in water. If it’s a stubborn stain you need to remove, try spot cleaning with a mild detergent. Some shades have a "soft hand" fabric. Be very careful when trying to clean these types of shades as the material can be damaged.
